Teaching Children with Moderate or Severe Disabilities (link to PowerPoint presentation)
On Tuesday, October 16 Dr. Lieberman looked in detail at instructional and assessment approaches for physical education with students with complex multiple exceptionalities. The morning presentation covered topics including universal design for learning (UDL) applied to physical education, positioning, engagement from wheelchairs, and strategies for paraeducators and peer tutors. After lunch, the workshop shifted back over to a local elementary school where students with visual impairments and additional exceptionalities demonstrated a series of adapted gym activities.
