Each year, BC Blind Sports and Recreation partners with local teachers of students with visual impairments, Orientation & Mobility specialists, educational assistants, and other community partners to host sports days for students with visual impairments at regional events all over British Columbia. These days serve to promote adaptive recreation activities and sports for students with visual impairments and are a great opportunity for students and professionals alike to reconnect and socialize.

This year, regional Sports Days were held in Victoria on May 31, 2018 and on June 1, 2018 in Vancouver. Sports Days are typically held in the last weeks of May/first weeks of June.

The Vancouver Island Sports Day was attended by students from all over the Island and featured track and field events, a climbing wall, kayaking in a pool, and swimming.

The Lower Mainland Sports Day featured a number of field events and ball games as well as swimming and ended with the traditional tug-of-war. Below is a short video of the action at the Lower Mainland Sports Day.
