Introducing Braille Bites Season Two!

About Braille Bites Season Two

The concept for Braille Bites came from conversations between braille users and teachers of students with visual impairments around supporting parents and caregivers of preschool learners who are blind or are partially sighted. We believe that tactile exploration strategies are important for any visually impaired learner, regardless of how they ultimately learn to read - braille, print, a combination of print/braille, symbols, cues, etc.

In Season Two we're focusing on the transition to school. Tactile strategies help blind and partially sighted learners engage touch as a trustworthy channel for gathering information at school. Join us as we cook up a bunch of tactile fun, including tactile maps, object calendars, raised markings or textures, and much more!

On behalf of our production team at PRCVI and Braille Literacy Canada, we hope you find these recipes useful and that they inspire you and your learner to whip up something fun!
