Happy Holidays from PRCVI!

With the holiday season upon us, the team at PRCVI would like to wish everyone the very best of the season and a happy and healthy new year! It is a privilege to serve such a dedicated, vibrant community and we look forward our work together in 2020 and beyond.

New Resources

Interesting in what new resources are available at PRCVI? Find out what's new in our Recently Added to the PRCVI Library section.

Core Curriculum and ECC Portals

The PRCVI team is excited to launch two new resource portals.

The Expanded Core Curriculum portal features links to both the PRCVI Library as well as web-based resources and connections to the BC K-12 curriculum. There is also a Featured Resources section that will refresh every month. We hope you find it useful!

The Core Curriculum portal is a companion portal to the core BC K-12 Curriculum. On each page, you will find suggestions for relevant kits and materials in the PRCVI Library as well as links to web-based resources. There are also direct connections to areas of the ECC that we hope are informative and helpful from an advocacy perspective. We'll be updating these pages as new and interesting resources come to our attention, so check back!

2020 BC Braille Challenge

The BC Braille Challenge is scheduled for Friday, February 21, 2020. Please get your registrations in as soon as possible. This year's Challenge has a theme - beach day! For more information, please see the BC Braille Challenge page.

About the author

Jen Jesso

I have worked in various roles in the field of visual impairment since 2007. In addition to working as a teacher of students with visual impairments, I recently completed coursework to become an orientation and mobility specialist. I have been fortunate to work with the fantastic team at PRCVI since 2014.

I enjoy many aspects of my role at PRCVI, but highlights include working with teachers of students with visual impairments and their students on outreach visits and working on PRCVI initiatives and projects.

Outside of work, my interests include reading, computer programming, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
